The Service
Travellers, holiday-makers and collectors often come home with loose or rolled canvases — paintings bought abroad, prints ordered online from overseas galleries, or unstretched artist pieces with nothing to mount them on. Our bespoke canvas stretching service builds museum-grade housing around these unique works: a custom wooden stretcher frame milled to the exact dimensions of your canvas, hand-stretched and finished in our Timperley workshop.
You can bring the canvas in person or post it to us. Anything sent via post travels at the owner's risk — Love To Frame cannot accept liability for damage caused in transit. Once it is safely with us, your canvas is in expert hands.
The Craft
We never use weak, pre-fixed stretcher bars. Every piece of timber is custom-milled to the exact artwork length, and medium-to-large works receive internal wooden bracing supports to permanently prevent warping or bowing under canvas tension.
Every canvas is measured to the millimetre. No off-the-shelf stretcher bars — your timber profile is sized exactly to your artwork.
We mill bespoke kiln-dried timber stretcher bars (slim 25mm or deep 38mm) and fit heavy-duty internal bracing on medium and large works.
Your canvas is pulled taut and archivally stapled by hand — corners folded cleanly, tension even across the face, ready as a continuous gallery wrap.
Backing tape fitted, hanging hardware installed on request. Collected from the studio or carefully packaged for return.
Important — Please Read
Canvases must be brought to the workshop in person or sent to us by post. We strongly recommend dropping off in person whenever possible — it's the safest way to protect your artwork.
If you choose to post your canvas, it is sent entirely at your own risk. Love To Frame cannot accept liability for damage caused in transit, including creases, tears, scuffs or loss. We always recommend using a tracked, insured courier and a sturdy postal tube with end caps.

Finishes & Edges
Choose how the edges read: a continuous gallery wrap that carries the image around every side, or clean white or coloured borders for a more contained presentation. Every canvas leaves the studio archivally fastened and perfectly tensioned — ready to hang safely for decades.
