From file to canvas
Every file is checked by a person before anything is printed. We look at the pixel dimensions against the size you actually want on the wall, and if the numbers don't work we say so — a phone snap that looks sharp on screen can fall apart at a metre wide. We'd rather tell you the honest maximum, or suggest a size the file genuinely supports, than stretch a soft image and hope you don't notice.
Colour is managed from your screen to the finished canvas. The Canon PRO-4600 lays down twelve pigment inks through a profiled, colour-managed workflow, which is why skin tones stay natural, deep shadows keep their detail and whites come out clean rather than grey. What you approved is what comes off the printer.
For larger pieces and colour-critical work we proof before committing to the full canvas. If a sky is drifting magenta or a black-and-white is picking up a cast, we adjust and run it again — nothing gets stretched until the print is right.
Sizing, depth & the edge
Start with the wall, not the file. We'll help you settle on a finished size that suits the space it's hanging in — above a sofa, up a stairwell, one of a grouped set — and because every canvas is made to the exact millimetre, you're never forced to crop your image to a preset size.
Then the bar depth. 20mm Fine Edge sits close to the wall — understated, and well suited to smaller prints and grouped displays. 25mm Slim Edge is the classic gallery wrap most people picture when they think of a canvas. 38mm Deep Edge stands proud of the wall with a sculptural presence that suits large statement pieces.
Finally the edge itself — the calculator calls them Mirror Wrap, Colour Edge Wrap and Gallery Wrap. Mirrored reflects the outer band of the image around the sides, so nothing is lost from the front — the safe choice for portraits. A full wrap looks superb on landscapes and abstracts with room to spare at the edges, but it does fold part of the picture around the sides, and we'll tell you plainly if your photo can't afford it.
After printing
The print never leaves the building to be finished — it goes straight from the printer to the stretching bench, where the same team behind our canvas stretching service pulls it drum-tight over kiln-dried solid pine bars, with heavy-duty internal bracing on larger sizes.
Most printed canvases hang exactly as they are — unglazed, with the texture of the canvas as part of the finish. If you'd like a float frame around yours, we build those in-house too; our guide to framing a canvas walks through the options.

There's no single magic number — it depends on the finished size. As a working rule we like around 100–150 pixels per inch at print size, because canvas texture and normal viewing distance are forgiving. Rather than asking you to do the maths, send us the file: we check every image before printing and tell you honestly the largest size it will hold.
