Football Shirt
Framing.

Hand-built shadow-box frames for signed, match-worn and retro shirts — UV glass, archival mounting, no pins through the fabric. Made in our Timperley workshop, shipped UK-wide.

Built around your shirt

The shirt is irreplaceable. The frame should match.

A signed shirt is often the most personal piece in the house — a final, a debut, a player you queued in the rain to meet. We frame hundreds of football shirts a year from our Timperley workshop, and the brief is always the same: protect the signature, hold the shirt cleanly, build a frame the room respects.

Every shirt is mounted with hidden archival stitching — no pins through the fabric, no glue near the signature — inside a deep shadow-box frame with UV-protective glazing as standard. Hand-cut mouldings, conservation mount board, gallery-grade finish.

Built around the shirt

Deep-set shadow-box frames — typically 35–55mm rebate — sized around the exact shirt and any accompanying memorabilia. Single shirts, multi-shirt collections, retro kits, signed match-worn pieces.

No pins, no glue, no fading

Shirts are mounted on archival board with hidden stitching or acid-free fixings — never pins through the fabric, never glue near a signature. UV-protective glazing as standard to stop ink fade.

Hand-cut moulding to suit

Hundreds of timber, painted and contemporary aluminium profiles to choose from. We'll match the frame to your interior — club colours optional, gallery-neutral usually best for resale value.

Three ways to frame it

Single shirt, full collection or shirt-plus-memorabilia.

Single signed shirt

Single signed shirt

The classic. Folded once with the badge and signature visible, framed in a deep box with UV glass. Optional plaque underneath with player name and match details.

Multi-shirt collection

Multi-shirt collection

Two, three or four shirts in one large frame — full kit history, family supporters, or a player's career arc. Mounted on a continuous board so each shirt reads as part of one story.

Shirt plus memorabilia

Shirt plus memorabilia

Shirt with match programme, ticket stub, photograph and engraved plaque. Multi-aperture mounts cut to your layout — the heirloom version of a signed shirt.

Beyond football

Boxing gloves, cricket bats, cycling shirts, medals.

Most of what we frame is football shirts, but the same shadow-box techniques work for any sports memorabilia: signed boxing gloves, cricket bats and stumps, rugby caps and shirts, marathon medals, cycling shirts, golf score cards and Open day pin flags. If it matters to you, we'll build a frame for it.

For Lions and Six Nations kit see our rugby shirt framing page, for medals and military sets see medal framing, or browse the full range of sports, heirlooms and 3D objects on our memorabilia framing page.

Weighing up the display decisions first? Our guide to framing a football or rugby shirt walks through folded versus full-front, sleeves, signed-shirt care and what changes for heavier rugby kit.

Frequently asked

Football shirt framing, answered.

A single signed shirt in a quality deep-box frame with UV glass typically runs £160–£260 depending on shirt size, moulding and glass spec. Multi-shirt collections and shirt-plus-memorabilia layouts are quoted on the piece — drop us a photo and approximate size and we'll come back same day.

We don't use pins through the shirt. Shirts are stitched onto archival mount board with hidden cotton thread, or fixed with acid-free clips on heavier kits. No needles through fabric, no glue near signatures.

UV-protective glass as standard on every sports frame — it blocks the rays that fade signatures and bleach kit colours over time. Anti-reflective and museum-grade options available for shirts hung in well-lit rooms or south-facing walls.

Yes — we frame everything from 1970s Match-worn classics through to modern Premier League shirts. Older shirts often need gentle conservation work before framing (we'll flag it before quoting). Boxing gloves, cricket bats, rugby caps and cycling shirts all welcome too.

Standard turnaround is 7–10 working days from the moment we have the shirt and your spec approved. Rush work for birthdays and Father's Day deadlines is regularly accommodated — flag the date when you enquire.

Yes. Framed shirts are double-boxed and shipped via insured courier nationwide. Local Greater Manchester customers (WA14, M21, M33 and surrounding) get free own-van delivery on framed orders over £150.

No — proper shirt framing involves gently stitching the shirt onto a mount board, which leaves needle marks invisible from the front but isn't reversible without care. If you want the shirt back wearable, ask us about display cases instead.
